Alex Carter
by Chelsey Alexandrea Carter

Art Hearts Fashion | New York Fashion Week | (02/2020)

Alex carter is a unisex label that embodies and provides edge and poise. Alex carter designs from an emotional stand point designing from what we feel to administer what our customer needs. Being a creative is our profession, building the brand is our career.

The latest collection “Alex Carter” from designer Chelsey Carter made its appearance this season at Art Hearts Fashion Week. With brilliant colors and amazing designs and the use of some of the finest fabrics, made the presentation of Alex Carter superb.

Appliqués that may not necessarily function such as lacing, eyelets, and certain hardware are used in some of her designs. The “Alex Carter” collection remains exclusive in its availability sold through the official website and exclusive boutiques.

Carter considers herself to be an emotional designer whose designs are inspired from the vibe and feelings at that moment. Her designs may be influence by world events, economically, politically, and socially.

The collection “Class is in Session” had pieces named after the Rugrats characters. Recently Carter expressed interest in designing a bridal collection. We look forward to seeing this come to fruition. You can learn more about Chelsey Alexandrea Carter and the Alex Carter brand at: http://www.shopalexcarter.com

Carter was intrigued with the idea that people, just by the name Alex Carter, would not know if the designer was male or female. Each of Carter’s collections thus far has been inspired or named after people that meant something in her life. Her previous collection “Ode to Femininity” was inspired by Frida Kahlo.

The collection’s name Alex Carter stems from the designers own name Chelsey Alexandrea Carter. An idea that was derived from her Uncle and a perception that women respond more to a brand name that is androgynous verses a feminine name.

It would take the Chicago native more than eleven years to build her brand to what we see today. This all the while still living in Chicago. We spoke to some of the attendees after the Art Hearts Fashion Show presentation and each were excited about specific pieces shown that evening.
